Interesting week reflected in the UK power market. Wind and hydro generation has benefited highly from the relentless chain of storms. However there have been several reports of hydro assets unable to cope with the amount of debris washed down after a very dry end to 2019.

It seemed as though there was going to be some relief to UK markets at the beginning of the week with LNG tankers unable to dock due to Storm Ellen over last weekend. Despite this, due to there being a resurgence of the Coronavirus and temperatures heading once again into double digits, the UK power market has taken a turn for the worse again, see below.
