| This has truly been an incredible year and we are so pleased with the fantastic results of all our clients and the progress with new projects and assets being built. As December is a month of reflection, here’s a little recap of what we’ve been up to. |
| In January 2021, we celebrated 91 independent PPAs signed through our platform – our all time high. Since then, we’ve managed to beat this record and in 2021 over 750 PPAs were signed through the Renewable Exchange platform with an estimated annual production of over 1,850,000 MWh (1.8TWh) across all technology types – that’s enough electricity to power the population of Bristol for a year! Over summer, we were so pleased to return to travel and face-to-face meetings with our clients and partners again. In August, we also got a chance to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Sharing knowledge and encouraging more innovation in the industry is very important to us – we were also pleased to participate in our local Bristol Technology Week where we talked about what it’s like being an industry disruptor. In October, Renewable Exchange was shortlisted for the Outstanding Service Award at the Scottish Green Energy Awards 2021 – a fantastic recognition of our work and committment. 2021 also marks the introduction of our biggest-ever platform updates – in March, we launched Platform version 2.0. We didn’t stop there, though! We continued to improve the interface and functionality of our online PPA marketplace making it the biggest and best PPA tendering platform in the UK. As we strive to make the power trading market more transparent and fair, we’ve taken upon ourselves to simplify the PPA process for the generators and offtakers. In November 2021, we officially launched the Lightning PPA – a standardised power purchase agreement document which allows for immediate one-click tender execution. Finally, we have recently launched our platform in Germany – marking our first international market entry. We were delighted to work with ABO Wind – a leading renewables developer in Germany – to lock in a PPA for a 7-turbine wind site. |

This has been an incredible year for Renewable Exchange – we are so proud of the fantastic results we were able to get for all our customers.
We would also like to say a big thank you, from everyone at Renewable Exchange, to all of you who worked with us, supported us and helped propel the development of renewables in the UK and beyond (According to the latest figures from BEIS, over 87% of people in the UK now support renewables – we have all contributed to this!)
